At the Annual Meeting
An award bestowed on Ron Sharpe for dedicated service to the advancement of the BACnet® Protocol
used with all types of Building Control & Automation Systems. Recognition for his involvement
starting with the first gathering at the University of Cincinnati in 1998. Served as the first
Chair of BACnet® Interest Group (BIG) which later became BIG-NA (North America). The organization
continued to grow and combined with BACnet® Manufacturers Association (BMA) to become BACnet®
International (BI) serving all countries - all continents.

The 2005 BTL Plugfest was held in Danvers, Massachusetts. Over 100 people were in attendence representing more than 20 manufacturers.
The strongest, in terms of numbers to date, showing at an Interoperability workshop.

The yearly event has been coined the Plugfest.

BACnet Manufacturers Association Completes First Interoperability Workshop -
The BACnet Manufacturers Association (BMA) recently held the first BACnet
interoperability workshop at the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST)
building and fire research laboratory in Gaithersburg, Maryland to provide an opportunity
for member companies to test products for interoperability.
