Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. Joins BACnet® International
Leverages Increased Adoption of BACnet® Protocol to Expand Business
(Atlanta, Georgia) BACnet® International today announced that Yaskawa Electric America, Inc. joined the organization. Yaskawa, a
leading provider of building automation controls and the world's largest manufacturer of adjustable frequency drives, servo and motion control, and robotics is now a Silver
level member of BACnet® International. The membership will give them enhanced visibility within the BACnet® International community
on the Web site, product catalog, and newsletters. A full listing of BACnet® International membership benefits is located
here and an overview is included below.
Neil Koepke, Yaskawa's manager of marketing communications, explains the motivation to join BACnet® International, "the BACnet®
protocol is playing a larger and larger role in the HVAC/Building Automation marketplace, and is involving more and more players. It is important for Yaskawa to remain up-to-date on the
rapid advances being made in this arena and to be able to test and certify our equipment via the BACnet® Testing Labs. Interoperability was another reason Yaskawa was
excited to join the organization. Koepke continues, Adjustable Frequency Drive manufacturers need to work with many different network protocols. Several automation control companies offer
BACnet® as a network solution, and our solution works with many different control manufacturers which allows a consulting-specifying engineer, installing contractor,
or building owner/operator to control and monitor an adjustable frequency drive for excellent building control and energy savings."
Andy McMillan, President of BACnet® International and President/CEO of Teletrol Systems, on Yaskawa Electric America, "We are pleased to welcome Yaskawa,
a strong technology innovator, to the BACnet® International community. Their participation further expands our ability to facilitate the adoption of BACnet and
interoperability among BACnet products. As a member of BACnet International, Yaskawa will have enhanced access to information, interoperability events, and promotional opportunities."
